Who is Maggie Terry?

I’m a 68-year-old adopted Mainer, originally from a small town in Vermont. With two years of college and 15 years in the corporate world, I’ve spent the last three decades building and running businesses that reflect Maine’s entrepreneurial spirit — including Free Range Fish and Lobster on Commercial Street, Solar Seafood, Legal Leaf, Sea Horse Alley, The Hatchery, and Legal Label Inc.

My work has always lived at the intersection of business and regulation. Through Legal Label, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how to navigate complex regulatory environments while staying grounded in the realities of day-to-day operations. I know how to balance the rules with the practical needs of running a business — and that’s a perspective I bring to public service.

My family is at the heart of everything I do. I adopted my son when he was 10, and his older brothers became family as well. Over time, our circle grew — and today, I’m proud to be “Grammy” to five wonderful grandchildren who bring joy and meaning to my life.
